💡We highly recommend Idaho Freedom Foundation’s Bill 2026 Bill Analyses. We usually agree with their ratings. Plus, IFF is more experienced than we are and they rate more bills.
🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃🏃➡️🏃♀️➡️🏃♂️➡️👟
We plan to crank out and share our opinions on Idaho bills that are most important to us as quickly as possible. Call it “Operation Warp Speed” (OWS) for bills, but let’s hope for better outcomes than OWS gave us.
Please forgive frenzy-induced errors in our analyses or typing. We’re running as fast as we can. As always, take everything we write with several grains of salt, but know that our intentions are always honorable.
🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃🏃➡️🏃♀️➡️🏃♂️➡️👟
Note: Bills marked with strikeout text are: bills revised in a later bill with the same name, bills pulled by their sponsor, or bills that were voted down or vetoed. (Some bills may appear in more than one category.)
AI To the Rescue
We often use Grok AI (https://grok.com/) or Chat GPT (https://chatgpt.com/) and other AI resources to help us tease out legalese before we read a bill, after we read it, and as a guide when communicating with legislators. We link to the bill’s PDF file and use a query such as the following to get a summary:
_____
Please summarize the linked file. Do not use outside links. Create a summary paragraph, use bold headings, paragraphs and bullets for rest of file.
_____
📌 AI is NOT a substitute for actually reading and thinking about a bill. Sometimes AI skips important details or gets things dead wrong. So keep your brain engaged when using AI.

Crime & Illegal Immigration
03/07/26 Update: Sen. Brian Lenney provides update on Idaho’s immigration bills. Not looking good for meaningful reform. Watch (video ~6 min)
🔥 03/06/26 Update: After reading Idaho Senator’s Brandon Shippy’s Substack Article “When Compliance Replaces Freedom,” we have changed our stance on forcing businesses to use E-Verify and now object to it due to the surveillance risks and burdens placed on law-abiding citizens and businesses.
Please disregard our support for requiring all employers to use E-Verify in the notes below. (We simply do not have time to update all of them, so consider this message as the update.)
DISCLAIMER: We do not support illegal immigration. NOT AT ALL! We believe better solutions include:
Close our borders to illegal immigration and keep them closed.
Deport illegal immigrants immediately (federal agents with local sheriff cooperation).
Arrest and jail illegal immigrants who commit and are convicted of additional crimes (being an illegal immigrant is the initial crime).
Do not wait for jail sentences to complete before deporting them to their home countries. US taxpayers should not pay for their housing, even in jail.
Alert home countries of crimes, and let home countries deal with them.
Do not fund any support for illegal immigrants, including education, housing, and medical care other than absolute emergency medical care. Then see #2 above.
Provide smoother paths to LEGAL immigration.
Require photo ID for driver’s licenses and voting, but not using national databases. Proper ID and citizenship requirements should be enforced at the local level when registering to vote, to drive, etc.

☎️📧 Contacting Your Idaho Legislators
Contacting Your Legislators: Idaho Insider makes contacting your legislators, committees, district representatives, and more an absolute breeze. Click a big red button to send emails to a desired group. The tool uses your own email client, places the email addresses in the BCC list, and never goes to a third-party delivery system so is far less likely to be captured in spam filters.
💡Tip: Idaho Insider uses AI to draw its data from the official Idaho legislature website and should update automatically.
Contacting Your Legislators (the old fashioned way): Idaho Legislature website helps you find legislator and committee contact info (photos, names, political affiliations, districts, email addresses, phone numbers, and more).
House: Members | Leadership | Committees
Senate: Members | Leadership | Committees
💡Tip: Your best bet is to use Idaho Insider for most group communication. However, many email systems enable you to create groups of email addresses; simply create a group and enter the individual email addresses for that group. Once you’ve set up a group, you can email the group without having to re-enter individual email addresses. Check your email system’s Help documentation to learn how to set up groups.
